DOS Team Builiding 2024 with Purpose and Creativity

The DOS Team Building 2024 brought together Singapore’s Department of Statistics (DOS) and SingStat teams for an innovative and engaging event aimed at reinforcing teamwork, enhancing communication, and promoting the transfer of learning. DFW Creative was honored to partner in this initiative, crafting tailored activities that inspired collaboration, creativity, and a deeper appreciation of their shared mission.
Creative and Purposeful Activities
To foster meaningful connections and align with the team’s work, we designed hands-on activities that engaged participants on multiple levels:
Collaborative Canvas Drawing
Teams worked together to create a collaborative mural representing DOS as the primary data hub. Using a giant pen with eight straps, this activity required eight individuals to draw together, while two members coordinated the process to ensure smooth teamwork. This exercise highlighted the importance of cooperation, communication, and shared vision.Upscaling LEGO® Challenge
Teams were given a mystery batch of LEGO® pieces (1-2 kg) and tasked with upscaling them into innovative structures. This challenge promoted resourcefulness, problem-solving, and creativity, encouraging participants to think outside the box while working toward a common goal.Bridges Between Data and Users
Teams of 10 collaborated to build an interconnected bridge system spanning designated areas. The bridges symbolized the connection between data and its users. The activity culminated in a spectacular "Data Highway Run," where a toy car equipped with a camera filmed its journey across the bridges, representing the flow and connection of data. This exercise demonstrated the value of interconnectedness, collaboration, and the ability to innovate under pressure.
